A TEENAGER’S version of a traditional British ballad has won her first prize at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts.

Alice Arthur, from Inkberrow, wowed judges with her performance of Scarborough Fair to beat 20 other entrants to the title of The Trye Challenge Cup for Folk Song for ten to 14-year-olds.

The 13-year-old Pershore High School student was praised for her interpretation, timing and sound.

Her parents Clare and Alan said they were ‘delighted and very proud’.
