A NEW support group is starting in Redditch for people suffering from spells of dizziness and issues with their inner ear – known as ‘vestibular problems’.
‘Inner Spin’ has been launched by Claire Davies, who has herself suffered from the condition in the past and knows that dealing with the condition can be both difficult and isolating.
“Whilst you may look fine on the outside, you are constantly battling to stay upright, or worried when the next attack of vertigo is going to hit,” said Claire, from Headless Cross and leader of the local branch of the Green Party.
“Meeting with other people who understand what you are experiencing, can not only help battle the feelings of isolation and depression, but also help to make you feel listened to.”
In conjunction with the Meniere’s Society (a national charity that raises awareness about vestibular problems, not just Meniere’s Disease), Claire has established the support group for people in the area.
The inaugural meeting will be at Ahead of Wellbeing, which is at the back of Primark in the Kingfisher Centre on Thursday, March 12 at 10.30am.
