A COUPLE from Redditch are seeing less of each other after losing nearly 14st between them.
And their incredible weight loss meant Malcolm and Lynda Green, of Abbotswood Close, Winyates Green, were able to fly the flag for the town at Slimming World’s Couple of the Year competition.
Lynda, aged 54, lost 5st 9lb and said they were honoured to represent Redditch at the prestigious event.
“We were absolutely delighted to take part in the finals.” she said. “If I’m honest though, the competition is really just the icing on the cake because we already feel like we’ve won the biggest prize anyway. Losing weight has completely changed our lives and we’ve got a healthier future together now.”
Her 59-year-old husband Malcolm lost 8st 1lb said the couple are now enjoying a far more active lifestyle and go swimming, cycling and walking.
He said: “Doing this together has made a big difference because we understood how the other person was feeling and didn’t ever feel like we were alone on our weight-loss journey.”
The Redditch Slimming World group meets every Tuesday from 7.15pm at Winyates Green Community Centre.
