THE caring staff on Ward 10 at the Alexandra Hospital have been praised by former Studley parish and district councillor Eric Holder.
Eric stepped down from parish duties before the local elections in May after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
However, after having his prostate and lymphnodes removed top surgeon Lieutenant Colonel Zaheer Shah at the Alex, he is well on the road to recovery.
“Lt Col Shah was absolutely brilliant and reckons he got all the bad bits out,” said Eric.
“And I could not say a bad word against all the staff on Ward 10 – they were all great.”
Eric spent 12 years on the parish council and four years as a district councillor before it was re-organised in 2015.
He helped set up the dementia garden at the village’s Redditch Road allotments were he is still actively involved.
As a token of appreciation the parish council made a presentation of appreciation for all his efforts for the village.
“Eric has been a smashing councillor and we will all miss him,” said Coun Sue Redman last year’s chair.
