STUDENTS from St Mary’s Church of England Academy in Studley have produced artwork which they hope will help uplift patients at the Alexandra Hospital.

The artwork has been put on display and has been well-received by patients and staff.

Mark Herauville, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Chaplain, said: “Everyone has been feeling quite low as you can imagine.

“We’ve got a great big display cabinet at the hospital where we put the art and so many comments have come back from staff members who have walked by and had a little smile.

“It’s junior school, they’re only young so you’ve got that innocence, their childhood innocence reflecting through art.”

The artwork has been a big help to everyone at the hospital who have had a difficult 18 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mark, who is also vice chair of St Mary’s Church of England Academy, added: “The children created the artwork as a gesture of love and kindness for the hospital.

“Even coming out of Covid. there’s still a huge amount of pressure at the hospitals.

“It makes everyone feel a bit more human again and touches the senses.”
