STUDLEY is to get a ‘cut price’ CCTV camera to deter criminals.
Parish councillors heard that light from the infra-red camera they’d bought to monitor the local skate park was hitting the fence on the far side and bouncing back, effectively ‘blinding’ the piece of kit.
The solution, councillors decided, was the use that camera to monitor the rear of the village hall and buy a new non-infra-red one, costing £245, which would not only cover the hole in the soffit mounting left by the old one, but also cover the skate park.
“The cost of re-painting the skate park a few times is a lot less than the cost of the camera,” said Coun Brian Dixon.
