BOOKSTART Bear will be the VIP guest at Redditch’s stay and play sessions as part of National Share a Story Month.

The cuddly mascot will be a part of the activities at the sessions, organised by the Council’s Parenting and Family Support Service in partnership with Bromsgrove and Redditch Libraries.

From crafts and puppet-making, book mark creations and story-telling there will lots to keep the youngsters entertained including free play and delicious snacks.

There will also be a chance for a photograph with Bookstart Bear.

Community Capacity Builder Louise Hall said: “We want to try and increase the numbers to our stay and play groups which, although popular, do have some spaces.

“They provide a vital service for parents and youngsters to mix and play together – and of course take a break from each other too!

“We want more people to come and see what great sessions these are so they know this support is there.

“National Share a Story Month is a great chance to do this and with Bookstart Bear too!”

May’s sessions, aimed at children aged 0 – 5 years, are:

21st @ Woodlands 10 – 11.30am

23rd @ Batchley Community Centre 10 – 11.30am

24th @ Woodrow library 10–11am

25th @ Holly Trees 12.30 – 2pm
