MUSICIANS from Redditch and the surrounding area are banding together to hold a fundraising concert for Ukraine.

Sing for Ukraine has been organised by Ros Sidaway and borough impresario James Hollamby and will be held at the Challenge Zone in the Hub at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

What’s more it’s free too, although concert-goers will be asked to give generously to help refugees fleeing the Russian onslaught in Ukraine.

“I’d been contacted by quite a few musicians both in Redditch and from further afield and the message was the same from all of them – we have to do something to help,” said Ros.

Ros of course is the woman behind Vintage Trax off Church Green East and the organiser of the internationally famous John Bonham Festival.

James Hollamby is renowned for putting on great events in the town, not least his incredibly successful drive-in gigs at the Abbey Stadium during the height of lockdown.

Together they’ve assembled a great roster of singers and bands to entertain concert-goers and to do their bit for war torn Ukraine.

The concert is on Sunday, March 13 from 1pm to 9pm at Challenge Zone  next to Nandos, in the Hub section of the Kingfisher and will be free to enter.
