A SATELLITE engineer from Studley is one step closer to being named ‘Britain’s Top Tradesperson’ after reaching the final in Screwfix’s annual search.

Marc Sterland, aged 38, has spent the past 15 years building up the reputation of his company, Aerials & Satellites Ltd.

He has seen off competition from tradesmen and women from across the county and will attend the regional final tomorrow (Saturday) at Aston’s Screwfix store.

The chance to become Britain’s Top Tradesperson includes winning a Mitsubishi L200 Warrior pickup truck worth £33,000.

Marc said: “I’m over the moon to be a regional finalist, it’s such a great competition and to get this far is amazing.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to be recognised for the hard work I put in, and I’m determined to show my dedication to the industry and my customers.”

Caroline Welsh, from Screwfix, said: “The standard of entries this year has been outstanding.

“It will be great to see Marc compete against other finalists, which will included the best builders, plumbers, electricians and more.”
