THE SAILING session at Arrow Valley Countryside Park last Saturday saw more than 40 people turn out to have fun in the sunshine with Redditch Sailing Club.
It was part of the borough council’s ‘Park Lives’ project, which offers free sporting activities to get families active over the summer, thanks to funding from Coca-Cola.
Everyone who took part had a great time on the lake and many of the junior participants signed up to continue sailing with the club.
Greg Croydon from Redditch Sailing Club said, “We had a great day on Saturday – it was the perfect day for sailing and the excellent weather really helped.
“We were so pleased to see so many families keen to have a go at sailing and several had such a great time they’ve decided to come back again.”
More events like this one will be happening every week until the end of August, such as Nordic walking tomorrow (Saturday), Tai Chi next Saturday, July 28 and golf on August 4.
