Robbers target Bleachfield Street cashpoint machine in third incident

Redditch Editorial 27th Aug, 2019   0

THE cashpoint machine in Bleachfield Street in Alcester has again been the scene of an incident.

On two previous occasions a senior citizen using the ATM has been barged out of the way by a woman after they’ve keyed in their PIN number, in one case escaping with £500.

In this latest incident the cashpoint user was approached by a woman asking for money for her baby.

As he turned to speak to her a man tried to take his card from the machine.

They were challenged and the man ran off, leaving the woman in the street.

She is described as Eastern European with black hair, 5’ tall and wearing a head scarf or hoodie.

The man was tall and with fair hair.

The incident happened at around lunchtime on Saturday, August 24 and police are appealing for more information and witnesses to come forward.
