Residents invited to consultation on new solar farm near Inkberrow

Redditch Editorial 28th Jun, 2022   0

RENEWABLE energy company is holding an additional public consultation event this Thursday (June 30th) to present the changes made to the proposals as a result of the constructive feedback received from local residents.

JBM Solar is bringing forward proposals for a temporary solar and battery storage installation on land to the south of Earls Common Road near Stock Green.

As well as providing clean renewable energy for the equivalent of over 18,000 homes annually, the proposals will help to meet national government commitments and provide the UK with much needed home-grown energy, whilst leaving 95% of the site available for pastoral sheep farming for the lifetime of the project.

The initial consultation event on the proposals was held on May 3rd this year, with over 100 residents in attendance.

Several concerns were raised, including the proximity of panels to some dwellings and roads, flooding of the Stock Green Brook, construction traffic routing, treatment of the Public Rights of Way, loss of agricultural land and fire safety.

In light of this feedback, JBM has made several changes to the proposals.

Full details of these, including an updated site layout, will be presented at the additional public consultation this week.

The consultation takes place between 1pm-7pm at The Bowls Pavilion in Inkberrow.
