THE memories came flooding back for Roy Dyson when he recently saw renovation work going on at the ‘community centre’ in Priory Road, Alcester.
For the 79-year-old Studley resident remembers it as his old primary school back in 1951 when Father Briskey was the headmaster and his teacher was Maria Hardigan.
“We lived in Alcester at the time, not far from the school and my mum was a caretaker there,” said Roy, who moved up to the Grammar School after leaving.
“My sister also went to the school and I have lots of old photos.
“It would be great to see if they jog people’s memories,” added Roy, who enjoyed a long and successful career in public service, finishing as an officer with Stratford District Council.
