Redditch's Abbey to celebrate first birthday in style

Redditch Editorial 21st Dec, 2017   0

THIS January the Abbey Stadium are celebrating one year since the opening of their studios with a special launch day – and everyone is invited.

On January 6, members and non-members alike are invited to a free birthday bash and try out a new sport or activity.

The new studios were officially opened last January and this time round will be showcasing some of the classes they have to offer with an array of free sessions for visitors.

Coun Bill Hartnett, Leader of the Council, said: “Our open day in January 2017 was a huge success and we hope our birthday bash for 2018 will be just as much fun! There really is something for everyone to try, no matter what your age or ability.

“Whether it’s taking a dip in the pool, trying out a class or testing out the treadmill, we all know that January is the perfect time – post Christmas indulgence – to get up, get active and try something new.”

There will also be the opportunity for guests of all ages to swim between 7.30am and 8.30am, 12noon and 1.45pm, although booking in advance for this is essential.

Anyone not interested in attending classes or swimming but fancies a go at the gym, can take part in ‘gym challenges’ or simply try out some of the machines.

The open day will run from 8am until 1pm and a timetable of free classes is available on the council’s website.
