REDDITCH Youth Centre is running a six-month training course to help unemployed people gain valuable skills and work experience.

The joint venture between Dragon Football Academy and 2 Counties Training will see the running of these traineeships, which began last Monday but can be joined for free at any time.

The course is taking place at the the newly-renovated Redi Centre for youngsters aged 16 to 24 who are currently not in education, employment or training.

Main education lead, Kevin Redmond, said: “The traineeship will offer people employment skills as well as allowing them to pick up several qualifications that will aid them on their journey into work.”

The aim is to prepare young people for their future careers by helping to get them ‘work ready’.

It’s the only course currently operating out of the South Street centre during lockdown.

The centre provides affordable room hire in a well maintained, well resourced, safe and secure building.

Within which a range of community organisations can come together to offer a varied and exciting programme of activities for all age groups and members of the Redditch community.
