FORMER Redditch resident Joshua Insole has published his first book featuring more than 40 horror and sci fi short stories.

Joshua, from Hunt End and a former pupil at The Vaynor School and Kingsley College, is a two times winner of the Reedsy Writing Contest and is now working as a full time writer.

“I definitely like things that make your heart race, something that really puts you in the shoes of the characters and for me horror and science fiction ticks those boxes,” said Joshua, who’s parents and brother still live in Redditch.

However he’s since departed the shores of the UK after falling in love with an Austrian girl, moving to Innsbruck in Austria two years ago.

He’s currently working on his first full length novel and says he’s a fan of both Stephen King and Terry Pratchett.

“A lot of people think it’s all about inspiration but you’ve got to get up to go to work like any other job,” said the 27-year-old, who attended both Aberystwyth University and the University of Sussex.

His book, ‘A Chance to Rain’ is available on Amazon in both paperback (£6.99) and Kindle (£1.99) versions.
