“IT was a night we’ll never forget” – that was the verdict of Rachel Haywood after meeting top band The Script with her teenage son.
The Greenlands superfan entered the band’s meet and greet competition ahead of their show at Resorts World Arena, Birmingham on February 28.
Rachel, who works at the Redditch Standard, already had tickets to see the Irish group with her 13-year-old son, Eathan, but thought the opportunity to come face to face with her idols was too good to miss.
“I didn’t think I’d win because I never win anything,” she said.
But to her astonishment Rachel, who’s already seen the band five times, found the golden ticket in her inbox tray.
Overjoyed, mother and son waited in line to meet band members Danny, Mark and Glen before the show began.
“They were really friendly and asked how we were and if we were looking forward to the gig,” said Rachel.
“Danny said they would sing ‘Hall of Fame’ after Eathan told him that it was his favourite song. It was an amazing experience.”
