A GENEROUS woman from Redditch has donated hundreds of teddies and presents to local charities and children this Christmas.

Crabbs Cross resident Caroline Milarski, has spent the last six weeks stuffing the teddies in her living room.

She also donated hand-wrapped presents which she describes as ‘stocking-fillers’, to children who need it most.

“I just want to make them smile this Christmas,” said Caroline.

“Each present contains sweets, sticker books, dolls, a bouncy ball and other toys.”

Caroline spent hundreds of pounds on the project after raising the money from a jumble sale earlier this year, where she sold her old jewellery and toys.

She purchased the outer-material, or ‘teddy-bear skins’, for £1 each off a local market trader.

While she was busy collecting, she asked friends and family to donate as much stuffing as they could.

“I was after anything they could get their hands on,” said Caroline.

“A lot of the stuffing came from old pillows and duvets, things like that.

“Once I was finished, I decided to donate the gifts to Arc School Napton as well as Redditch charities Home Start, and Your Ideas Youth & Community Project.”

Although she enjoyed doing it, Caroline says it feels good to finally have her living room back in tact.

Jordan Cooke from Your Ideas, said: “We are so grateful to Caroline for the hard work she has done.

“Because she dropped off so many gifts, we had to distribute some of them to other groups including Batchley Support and Gloverspiece Minifarm in Droitwich.

“There were just so many! Incredible work.”

Caroline has kept some of the bigger teddy-bears and plans to donate them to a local raffle next year.
