HEALTH bosses have confirmed that Redditch will get its own Covid-19 test centre following a spike in cases last month.
The walk-in facility will be based at the Abbey Stadium and will open in two weeks’ time, according to Redditch MP Rachel Maclean.
She said: “Following the small spike in cases, I’ve been lobbying public health officials to set-up a walk-in COVID-19 testing centre in our town. I’m pleased to confirm Redditch will be getting this facility.
“I’m glad because this will make it easier for residents to access testing, helping us to control this virus.”
A test centre was set up in Abbey Stadium’s car park during lockdown but was later closed down due to a decline in cases.
The car park was then used for an outdoor cinema.
