Redditch solicitors offer free legal aid due to cost of living crisis

A REDDITCH legal practice, Charles Strachan Solicitors have offered legal aid in relation to both criminal and family matters.

Managing partner, Adrian Bryant, said: “We are committed to offering a high quality service to all our clients and this is a time to help our clients through challenging financial times and to give back to the community in some way.”

The company remains one of the few local firms which offers legal aid as well as private legal services to clients and are well known for defending motoring offences.

Whilst the cost of living increases, the firm say it is unlikely that those in need of legal advice and representation will decrease.

Access to criminal justice is arguably already difficult Mr Bryant said: “This is a time when local businesses need to come together to assist our community, we did it during the pandemic so we can do it again. Everyone should feel able to pick up the phone and ask for advice”.

The criminal department  have decided to give £10 to every new (non-duty) police station client, hoping this will in some way assist those requiring legal advice.

Police station representation is free and solicitor representation at the criminal court is free.
