Redditch schools tasked with designing face coverings for local police to wear

FIRST and middle schools in Redditch have been tasked with designing face coverings for local police to wear.

The children, aged between five and 11, were given mask templates to colour in however they see fit.

PCSO Gemma Bosco-Woods, of Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT), said: “We are aware that wearing masks is becoming more and more normal.

“For many children, adults in masks can be a scary sight.

“So we decided to brighten ours up a little by asking the children to design one that all local SNT officers will wear.”

Redditch SNT Inspector Lee Page will choose the winning design over the half term break.

He will then arrange a visit to the winning school in November and present the mask to the competition winner and their headteacher.

Gemma added: “We will need a local company to provide us with the masks for a reasonable price, so would appreciate anyone interested to get in touch and offer quotes.”
