Redditch Rotarians collect bucket loads of cash to help Ukraine

Ross Crawford 30th Mar, 2022

MEMBERS of Redditch Rotary Club joined colleagues from the Rotary clubs of Bromsgrove, Droitwich and North Worcestershire to hold a collection in Bromsgrove High Street, in response to the deepening humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

Rotary Foundation has created an official channel for Rotary members around the world to contribute funds to support the relief efforts underway by Rotary clubs.

More than million people have so far fled Ukraine and are in dire need of emergency aid.

Rotary clubs in Europe and around the world have stepped up their relief work, with many working on the ground in the surrounding countries to help displaced families.

The four Rotary clubs wish to thank everyone who contributed that day including many of the market traders, the shops on the High Street and surrounding area and Bromsgrove District Council for providing a gazebo for the day.

In total £765 was raised which was made up to £1,000 by a personal donation.

If anyone wishes to help with Redditch Rotary Club’s fundraising activities, they would be most welcome to join.

The more members, the more the club can do for communities.
