SEVERAL hundred metres of Prospect Hill in Redditch has been cordoned off after a suspicious package was found in the area.
It was discovered at 11.43am today (Wednesday) in Albert Street, opposite the Volvo garage.
Buildings inside the cordon have all been evacuated and, after two Army Bomb Disposal Units arrived at the scene just after 1pm, the cordon was extended to the bridge at the top of the hill.
Student Reece Roberts, 19, who attends the nearby NEW College, told The Standard: “You hear about bomb scares, but you don’t expect it here in Redditch.
West Mercia Police have advised people avoid the area while the incident is continuing.
