Redditch residents rally round as Primrose shop re-opens

Redditch Editorial 12th Jul, 2020   0

SHOPPERS have been welcomed back to Primrose Hospice’s Headless Cross charity shop which opened on Saturday, July 4.

Staff have spent a busy time making sure measures are in place to keep customers and volunteers safe and it plans to trade on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Customers are asked to stick to social distancing as well as other Government rules.

To make sure the shop is safe for everyone to use, the store has implemented the following:

PPE to include counter ‘sneeze guards’, face guards, masks and gloves.

Signage around the store to highlight social distancing.

A maximum of six customers allowed in the shop at any one time.

Hand sanitiser station for customers to use on entering the shop.

Anti-bacterial wipes and sprays to clean high traffic areas.

Anti-bacterial hand wash and a supply of paper towel and dispensers for staff and volunteer use.

Primrose Hospice’s other charity shops in Redditch, Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Rubery will remain temporarily closed.

Staff can only accept bagged clothing, shoes and handbags as well as boxed bric-a-brac, books, DVDs, CDs and console games.

Unfortunately, the shop cannot accept furniture at present and will not be able to return bags or boxes to customers.

Primrose Hospice is more than £1million out of pocket due to the blow the Covid-19 pandemic has given to its fundraising campaigns.
