RESIDENTS are being invited to take part in a project that could help shape Redditch Borough Council’s council tax and benefits services.

The council is inviting applicants to have an up to one hour interview about their experiences with those services in the last 12 months, conducted by a specialist research company, in return for a £60 Amazon voucher.

Councillor Tom Baker-Price, the authority’s portfolio holder for corporate management, said: “We want to improve and develop what we do and we would greatly appreciate the chance to speak to people about their experience with our council tax and benefits services.”

The interviews will be at the Town Hall on March 24 and 25 between 10am and 4.30pm.

To apply people will just need to be resident in the borough and have interacted with the services in the last 12 months.

Applications can be made until 12noon on Wednesday March 20, and the link to do so can be found at www.redditchbc.gov.uk/consultations.

The exercise is part of an ongoing project that sees a partnership of 14 councils, including Redditch exploring whether and how Artificial Intelligence and ‘chatbots’ could help deliver local services, backed by £80,000 of Government funding.

Coun Baker-Price added: “Talking to people about their real experiences of the services is key and I’m pleased to have Redditch voices feeding into the project.”
