Redditch recycling centre ready to accept real Christmas trees

Redditch Editorial 4th Jan, 2022   0

WITH twelfth night tomorrow, (January 5) Redditch residents are being urged to make sure their real Christmas trees are recycled by dropping it off at the town’s Household Recycling Centre in Crossgate Road, Park Farm.

The service is free and as well as Christmas trees the centre accepts a wide variety of household materials for recycling, as well as green waste from the garden.

Any paper and card packaging, plastic containers and cans that residents can’t fit in their recycling bin can all be deposited at the centre.

The list includes unwanted electrical equipment, clothing, bric-a-brac and bikes that can be reused by local charities to raise funds.

County Councillor Tony Miller, Worcestershire’s cabinet member for the environment said: “Household Recycling Centres are a great way to help the post-Christmas clear up.

“Taking a trip to a local recycling centre can make sure the things you don’t need any more can go where they’ll be of use either by being recycled or gain a new lease of life benefitting both local communities and the environment.”
