ALMOST one in three adults in the Midlands have admitted being unable to sleep at night because they are worrying about money.
YouGov research commissioned by Equifax found that not being able to pay unexpected bills was the top cause of sleepless nights, while not being able to afford to buy treats kept 43 per cent from falling asleep.
More than a quarter (26 per cent) of people Mildands residents said they worried about not being able to pay their household food bills, and around two in 10 (21 per cent) worried about not being able to pay their rent or mortgage.
According to the National Debt Line an estimated 7.9 million people are expecting to fall behind with their finances this month as a result of Christmas costs.
