A RALLYING call for more volunteers has been made at the Palace Theatre as the popular haunt embarks on its busiest autumn season ever.
In all 63 shows are scheduled for the main auditorium and studio theatre plus it’s also hosting two shows a day for this year’s panto production Cinderella.
“It’s really full on and we are exceedingly busy,” said Palace spokesman Paul Hughes.
“It’s a bit mad from a work point of view but for the audience it gives people lots to see and tickets are selling well.”
The Palace already has in the region of 100 volunteers with about ten needed for every performance handling everything from front of house, kiosks and bar.
“We rely heavily on our volunteers – it’s a big operation and we are always looking for more people to come and swell the ranks,” said Paul.
“For us it’s all to the good and obviously some will get to see the shows too.”
