REDDITCH MP has spoken of her disappointment after Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit deal was once again defeated by MPs in the House of Commons.

She said: “I’m disappointed with today’s result.

“On the day we should have been leaving the EU, I voted for the Withdrawal Agreement as it was the clearest route out of the EU.

“I’ve consistently stood by my election promise to deliver Brexit and I will continue to vote to leave with or without a deal.

“I voted for the UK to leave the EU on March 29 and have voted against all extensions to Article 50.

“Instead of acting in the national interest today Labour voted against the Withdrawal Agreement without even reading it.

Labour have shown they truly are the party of remain.”

The Prime Minister lost the vote by 344 votes to 286, a majority of 58.

If Britain is to avoid a no-deal exit from the EU Mrs May has until April 12 to negotiate an extension to the process.
