A REDDITCH man has been jailed for domestic violence offences in Kidderminster.

Anthony Boyd, 37, of Hewell Lane, Redditch was sentenced to 18 years in prison at Worcester Crown Court today.

A restraining order was also granted for an indefinite period.

On 14 October 2020 officers received a report of a woman having been stabbed at Oldington Trading Estate, Kidderminster.

Officers attended but Boyd had left the scene.

The woman, Boyd’s former wife, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham with life-changing injuries and was later discharged.

Over the next few days officers conducted searches to find Boyd. He was eventually located in Somerset and arrested on suspicion of attempt murder.

Investigations took place and he was charged and subsequently pleaded guilty to attempt murder, stalking and controlling and coercive behaviour.

Detective Constable Martyn Dudley said: “We thank the victim in this case for her co-operation in bringing this man to justice.

“We urge anyone with any concerns about domestic violence to please get in touch.

“We act on all reports we receive and offer full support to anyone who feels they are a victim of domestic violence.”
