A REDDITCH man has been jailed for 14 weeks after breaching the terms of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Kevin Machin, aged 55, from Salters Lane, appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court yesterday (Thursday 7 October).
The court heard how he had breached the CBO on four occasions between 28 August and 4 October by behaving in an anti-social manner.
Inspector Lee Page said: “Machin has consistently caused problems for visitors to Redditch town centre, which is why we sought a CBO to ban him form the area.
“Since it was granted, we have received numerous complaints from members of the public, including one business in Church Green where he threatened to kick in the front door and was abusive towards staff.
“He has continuously flouted the terms of the order, causing ongoing concern in the community.
“He has also been verbally abusive towards police when they have tried to deal with him and directed him to leave.”
Insp Page added: “We work closely with all of our partners in Redditch to ensure the town centre is a safe and welcoming place for people to come to work, shop and visit.
“We will use all powers at our disposal to disrupt those who behave in a criminal or anti-social manner to the detriment of the wider community.”
