ROY HODGSON’S men won’t be England’s only chance of World Cup success in Brazil this summer.

Ty Walton, from Redditch, is one of two English players to have qualified for the FIFA Interactive World Cup Grand Final, which is also being held in Brazil in Rio de Janeiro on July 2 and 3.

The 21-year-old made it to the final out of almost two million competitors who entered the qualifying rounds. He is ranked 19th in the world and will take on players from nations including Brazil, Romania and Ireland to be crowned FIWC champion.

He will also be treated to a tour of Rio’s landmarks, meet football legends and visit the Maracana stadium to watch one of the World Cup quarter finals.

The final of the tournament itself will be played on the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil game and the prize for the winner is 20,000 US dollars as well as an invitation to the FIFA Ballon d’Or to rub shoulders with the best footballers in the world.

Ty said: “I feel immensely proud that I’ll be representing my country in Brazil. I’ll be practising as much as I can in the weeks leading up to the Grand Final and I hope I can do England proud. Just imagine if England brought home two World Cup trophies this summer.”

The tournament is organised by FIFA, EA Sports and Sony PlayStation.
