A MAN has been arrested following a disorder involving a firearm in Redditch.
Police were called to the Warwick Bar and Nightclub, at around 5am on Saturday December 3.
A 41-year-old man from Redditch was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with the intent to endanger life.
He remains in police custody and investigations are ongoing.
A temporary closure notice was also issued to The Warwick Bar and Nightclub on Ipsley Street and the bar remained closed over the weekend.
The closure notice will then be heard at 2pm today (December 5) at Redditch Magistrates Court.
Superintendent Stuart Bill said: “This is an unusual incident for Redditch and I hope this arrest provides reassurance to the local community. We will not tolerate weapons on our streets and we will continue rigorously investigate incidents of this nature.
“We have increased patrols in the area over the weekend and also temporarily closed the nightclub following the disorder associated with this premises.”
