Redditch Editorial 14th Jan, 2020   0

LAST year proved a highly successful one for Redditch Library, as it scooped both international and national awards.

Now chiefs at County Hall have released figures showing those books most in demand from eager readers in 2019.

Lee Child once again tops the adult fiction list with his book Past Tense, just as he did in 2018 with The Midnight Line.

Lethal White by Robert Galbraith and In A House Of Lies by Ian Rankin make up the top three.

The Road To Little Dribbling: More Notes From A Small Island by Bill Bryson, Mythos by Stephen Fry and Becoming by Michelle Obama were the most borrowed non- fiction books.

The magic of Roald Dahl continued to delight junior readers, with five of the top ten borrowed children’s books written by him.

Esio Trot, The Magic Finger and The Giraffe And The Pelly And Me were particularly popular page-turners.

Meanwhile travel guide books were borrowed by many with Portugal, Italy, Spain, Japan and Scotland the most popular destinations.
