This election comes in a bid to break the deadlock in Parliament over Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.

The Lib Dems have been at the forefront of the battle to stop Brexit and say: “The Conservatives have made an absolute mess of Brexit.

“It has become a national embarrassment. Labour are enabling this crisis to continue.

“The best way to protect jobs and vital public services is to stop Brexit.”

Mr Horton added: “Redditch needs a strong pro-remain candidate to represent all those who call Redditch home.

“I am standing on a promise to vote to stop Brexit if elected.

“My three key priorities for Redditch are: 1) Education – ensuring our schools are properly funded and the damage caused by years of austerity and underfunding is reversed.

“Particular support is needed for early years education and children’s centres.

“2) Tackling the climate crisis – reducing greenhouse gas emissions across the constituency and adapting to the impacts of climate change, including increased risk of flooding.

“3 ) Quality, affordable housing – ensuring new development is good quality, sustainable and affordable, so that young people are able to stay in the area in which they were brought up, and making sure that infrastructure improvements keep pace with development.”

Married with three children, he works in Redditch and lives between Redditch and Stratford.
