THE behind-the-scenes work of Redditch Ladies Circle ensured this year’s Race for Life event was a runaway success.
Not only did the ladies marshall the event, but they sold pink tinged merchandise, booked in the runners and ran the administration tent and took the photographs of those taking part.
“There was about ten of us who helped out,” said Melanie Vaughan, the Ladies Circle’s official photographer at the event.
“We arrived at about 8.30am and finished at 2pm – it was a busy day but fun too and we were more than happy to help.”
The ladies were helped by Midland Fancy Dress on Church Green East who offered sale or return on a selection of pink goodies like headbands, tutus and poppers.
“We sold anything that was pink and raised £70 for Cancer Research just from that,” said Melanie.
“Ladies Circle is huge across the UK and here in Redditch we say we offer women fun, friendship and fundraising.”
