REDDITCH Job Centre is running a customer service course in preparation for the expected opening of a new call centre in the town.
Also on the way is a new Greggs store expected to open near one of the borough’s industrial estates.
In addition the centre has organised cleaning and housekeeping courses for people to improve their skills and boost their job opportunities.
The news comes as Redditch sees a slight increase in its jobless total, up 45 to 870, however figures for the 18-24 age group show a decline of 10 to 160 over the same period last year. The Job Centre is also promoting apprenticeship with the Armed Forces and is gearing up for a jobs fair at the Chateau Impney in the spring showcasing the job opportunities being offered thanks to the new HS2 rail line.
