REDDITCH women took advantage of the Leap Year to propose to their other halves.
Becky Fisher popped the question to fiance David Kane on February 29 at his home on Hewell Road, and was delighted when he said yes.
The 27-year-old was rushing round in the morning before asking him to marry her – a complete surprise for her 20-year-old partner. The couple have known each other for three years but have only been together for seven months.
He said: “We may have been together just seven months but it is just amazing how well we get on and how far we have come together. Everyone has been really supportive because they see how much better I am with her.
“She brought me out my shell and when she said ‘Do you know today’s the day women can ask their partners to marry them’ I was really surprised she just came out and said it. But then she knows I just don’t have the bottle to ask her for fear she would say no.”
The pair celebrated their news by returning to their meeting spot at The Railway Inn with friends and family.
