REDDITCH charity Acts of Kindness will be collecting food for Redditch Foodbank at Tesco on Coldfield Drive next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 29, 30 and December 1.

The three day collection is a major drive to ensure that at this time of giving no one need go hungry at Christmas.

The team will be there from 9am to 5pm but there will be deposit bins inside the supermarket outside those hours where people can contribute to making it a Merry Christmas for all.

The Rev Robin Baker, chairman of AoK said: “We would once again like to express our thanks again to all the people who have supported us so generously by donating food and finance in the past.

“Food can also be donated at any time during shop hours in Tesco in the special collection bin allocated and marked for Redditch Foodbank.

“We also want to thank all the companies and charities that donate food and finances to us at Christmas time.

“If you are planning to do this would you please let our foodbank manager know by e-mail [email protected].”

Redditch foodbank is open four days a week but such is the need that AoK is hoping to open for a fifth day in the town.

To access food from the foodbank recipients must have clearance from one of the partner agencies in the town.

The charity is also appealing for cash donations to further its work helping those less able to cope on their own.

“Thank you people of Redditch for helping those who find themselves in need,” said Rev Baker.
