A REDDITCH firm has achieved a sought-after BSI certification, opening up new opportunities in global aeronautical engineering markets.
Spring wire supplier Stride Supplies achieved a world class standard in operational and product quality in a highly regulated and specialised industry.
“This certification means we can now go after new customers in the aeronautical industry where we have only had fairly limited reach up to now,”
said Stride Industrial Group chairman, Graham Howes.
Stride Industrial Group comprises two related businesses in Redditch – Stride Supplies, the UK’s largest spring wire stockist, and needle-makers William Smith & Son.
Another Redditch spring wire stockist, Direct Wire, was acquired in February 2014 and integrated into Stride Supplies.
The group employs 40 and has sales of £10 million; supplying spring wire sourced from steel manufacturers all over the world, including Korea, US, Sweden, Germany, Italy and France.
Almost any piece of machinery that moves has a spring in it, and Stride supplies the wire to make springs for white goods, cars, engineering industries and increasingly for specialised sectors such as aeronautics and medical equipment.
