Redditch company celebrates National Apprenticeship Week by showcasing its talent

A REDDITCH company celebrated National Apprenticeship Week 2019 by showcasing some of its apprentices and their journey so far.

Arcus has a diverse range of apprenticeship programmes that are designed not only to help young people get their career off to a good start, but also to build a future workforce with the skills required for the industry.

Recently Arcus welcomed six new apprentices to the organisation who have all joined as customer service apprentices.

Oakenshaw resident Katie Fishwick, who joined in April 2018, said: “Taking up an apprenticeship was something I wanted to do because sixth form wasn’t working for me.

“When I started my apprenticeship, I was unsure how it all worked but this was clearly explained to me during my interview.

“On my first day I was a little nervous as this was my first full-time job, but everyone at Arcus was very welcoming and this made moving into the working environment very easy.”

Arcus offers apprenticeships in its core technical disciplines, including refrigeration, building services and property maintenance.

Lakeside resident Erin Morgan said: “When finishing school I thought it meant I didn’t need to learn anything new and whatever grades I left school with would map out the rest of my life.

“I was completely wrong because this qualification has taught me that learning on the job provides me with better opportunities.”
