Redditch centre which offers vital support for elderly people has REOPENED

A DAY centre offering vital support for elderly people in Redditch and Bromsgrove reopened its doors on June 15.

Valuing Individual People – known as the VIP Day Centre – supports elderly people with dementia, sensory impairments and disabilities.

Members play games together, socialise and have hot food cooked for them by care staff.

In March, most members were told to shield at home which led to the closure of the centre, based at the Barn Winyates Craft Centre, for 12 weeks.

Care manager Paula Watts said: “Even though we have been on a break we have still been very busy checking on the wellbeing of our lovely members.

“We have been sharing all our stories and videos with all of our members and everyone is so excited to be returning.”

Valuing Individual People, which also has a base at Bromsgrove’s Amphlett Hall, is hoping to attract new members from July 6.

If you would like to join or know someone who might be interested in joining phone the Redditch centre on 01527 758070 or Bromsgrove on 07733749531.
