THANKS to an application Worcestershire County Council, Redditch United have been able to install a new air conditioning heat pump system to the Trico Stadium’s Main Stand.

The new system was fitted by Redditch-based companies; Enegen AC and Griffin Electrical with 40% of the project funded by the Business Energy Efficiency Programme.

The same system has also been fitted to the Club’s new education building that houses both the mainstream football education college programme and our new special educational needs and disabilities programme for sport.

Redditch United vice-chair, Zeta Hewings, said: “We are extremely pleased to have been able to have benefited by the programme’s funding to help us deliver another project at Redditch United as we continue to drive the facility forward to enable us to provide wider use to the community.

“Our main stand is known to be stuffy in the summer and cold in the winter limiting the activities we can deliver at these times.

“Not only was our old system not fit for purpose it was expensive to run and produced much greater CO2.”

Marc Griffin of Griffin Electrical said: “We are very happy to have been able to support the Club on this project.

“We moved our business to Redditch this year and we’re very keen to get involved with the Club having heard so many good things.

“The facilities here are far from what you would expect for a Club at this level, and we will certainly be using them for future events and meetings as well as supporting The Reds on match days.”
