A REDDITCH hard rock band are getting set to feature on the soundtrack of an upcoming Xbox One video game.

State of Ember entered into a competition to perform soundtrack ‘Wreckfest’ – a racing video game to be released on Xbox One and Playstation 4 in early 2018.

Out of 275 entries, the band’s song ‘Denial’ finished in the top 10 and will now be featured in the demolition derby-style ‘Wreckfest’.

Chris Tamburro, aged 31, vocalist and guitarist for State of Ember, said: “The game is being developed by Bugbear Entertainment, and is being released by THQ Nordic – worldwide – so it’s highly likely that our song will be heard by ten’s of thousands of gamers across the globe.

“Finishing as a runner-up in the ‘Wreckfest’ game competition not only means the band are heard by potentially tens of thousands of gamers worldwide; but it also means we’ve got the chance to record a second EP in the studio – something we’ll be taking full advantage of.”

The band, made up of Chris on vocals and guitar, Mike Landreth on bass and Chelsea McCammon on drums, formed in 2016 and will be using their prize money to finance the disc.
