THERE’S a very important competition taking place over the next couple of weeks as The Redditch Standard Baby Photo Competition returns.

Hundreds of bonny babies will once again be photographed and entered into the contest absolutely free of charge.

Professional portrait photographer Andrea Powell will set up her mobile studio by The Works and Primark in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre from Monday, April 13 to Wednesday, April 22.

Simply take your baby or toddler – up to the age of 36 months – along to her from 9.30am to 4.30pm on any of those days (except Sunday). No appointment is necessary. She will take a selection of professional photos of your child absolutely free of charge.

After the pictures are taken you will be asked back a few days later to choose which print is to be entered into the competition.

You will also be given the opportunity to buy a selection of the prints at an extremely competitive price, but you’re under no obligation whatsoever to do so.

All children photographed will be entered into the competition and then 20 shorlisted into two categories – 0 to 18 months, and 19 to 36 months – with prizes in each.

The pictures of those shortlisted will then be published and readers will be able to vote for the winners.

First prize in each category is an enormous 24in x 20in canvas portrait of your child, worth at least £200, while the second prize is an 11in x 14in canvas portrait worth around £100.

Please note the judges’ decision on shortlisting is final, and no correspondence whatsoever will be entered into.

Employees of Bullivant Media Ltd and their families are not eligible to enter.
