Popular Redditch hair salon celebrates 30 years in the business with new look

THE corks were popping at a popular Redditch hair salon and barbers this week as it marked 30 years in the town with a brand new look.

Haircraft at the top of Beoley Road was started by business partners Andy Robinson and Wendy Stanley back in 1988.

In those days a pint of beer cost 91p, petrol was 34.7p a litre and the average house cost £38,398 – and if you had £100 in your pocket thanks to inflation it would be worth more than £250 today.

“When we set up in 1988 we never imagined we’d still be here 30 years later,” said Andy.

“They say it’s the happiest profession though and we all just love it here, it’s a really friendly, family environment and that’s why people keep coming back.”

To mark the anniversary the salon has been completely revamped and down out ready for a new era – and possibly the next 30 years.
