THE popular Rees Cafe invested in new kitchen equipment recently following a donation from husband and wife Borough Councillors Greg and Debbie Chance.
The cafe, which is currently closed, raises money for people leaving the care service as well as offering them volunteering and employment opportunities.
The two Labour Councillors, representing the Central ward, made the donation through the borough’s community grant scheme.
“We were keen to support the cafe as the work they do with people coming out of care is tremendous,” said Debbie.
“It’s always warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is lovely and we like the idea of their ‘chat’ tables where people can sit and talk to others and make new friends.”
