CHARITY money intended for the Royal British Legion has been stolen days before Remembrance Sunday.
The ‘shocking’ incident happened at Bridge Surgery on Evesham Road yesterday (Monday) between 6pm and 7pm when a Poppy Appeal tin containing around £60 was taken from the reception counter.
Investigating officer Emma Crowther said: “This theft comes days before Remembrance Sunday, and I find it shocking that somebody would stoop so low to steal from such a worthy charity and cause.
“I am appealing to other stores, shops and surgeries to be vigilant and to take extra measures in making sure that money tins and appeal boxes are secured and in sight at all times. I would also like to remind anyone considering to steal money donated to charities to think again.”
