THE Redditch area was hit by a spate of car crimes last weekend.

Over Sunday night August 11, a blue BMW 4 Series was stolen off the driveway of a house in Clive Road, Enfield without the car keys.

The same evening two BMWs were stolen from a home in Hazel Drive, Hollywood.

Thieves broke into the property, stole the keys and a purse containing cash and cards before driving off with a while BMW 520D and a black BMW 420D.

The 520D was later found in Birmingham.

On Saturday morning, August 10, a white Audi Q3 was taken from a home in Shawhurst Lane, Hollywood after thieves walked in and stole a handbag containing cash and the keys.

Back in Redditch a white Ford Transit van was stolen without the keys over Friday night, August 9, from a parking area at the back of a home in Felton Close, Matchborough.

Meanwhile in Pennyford Close, Brockhill, a man ran for it after he was spotted breaking into a car in the early hours of Saturday morning, August 10.

Police say simple crime prevention methods are the most effective way to deter potential thieves.
