MEMBERS of the Inner Wheel Club of Redditch celebrated its 65th anniversary by placing a plaque in the League of Friends Garden at the Alexandra Hospital.
The plaque was donated in memory of Audrey Stubbings, a former member of Inner Wheel, who when she died in 2018 at the age of 97 was the oldest and longest serving member of the club.
It was an appropriate location too as the Inner Wheel ladies have long tended the garden and also because a former member of Inner Wheel, Elsie Haden, was a founding member and past president of the League of Friends.
On hand on the day was the chair of Inner Wheel District 6, Claire Mangan, current president of the League of Friends Pat Hadley, along with the Friends’ Angela Smith who facilitated the whole event.
Also attending were the joint chairs of the Inner Wheel Club of Redditch Rosie Harvey and Rosie Waine and the club’s team of keen gardeners Judy Keight, Jenny Tonry, Pat Pritchard, Jenny Cole, Liz Trevis, Kate Roberts and Dawn Williams.
